A group of young men allegedly thrashed an assistant sub-inspector after he reprimanded one of them for urinating in public in in Thane district on Thursday night.
Maruti Kohinkar, 57, of Badlapur police station cautioned a teenager for answering nature’s call near his house at around 11 30pm Thursday night. His comments angered the young man who later called up five of his friends and thrashed the policeman.
They fled the scene in motorbikes after the incident.
Badlapur police have registered case. The search for the cumprits is on.
