Dhawan was trapped in front by Angelo Mathews in the first ODI in Dharamsala on Sunday for a duck. Playing cautiously, Dhawan reached his fifty off 47 deliveries in 52 minutes with captain Rohit Sharma on the other end.
Shikhar Dhawan was watchful in the beginning of the innings but then pressed the accelerator button after 10 overs were completed.
