"Over 1,700 pilgrims have been registered for the Amarnath yatra till now after registration process began at 80 different branches of Jammu and Kashmir bank in different states across the country from May 2," a J-K bank official said here today.

A total of 2,86,680 pilgrims would be registered. Of these, 2,73,720 pilgrims would be from registered outside the state, he said.

The registration would end on July 13, he said, adding that the bank would ensure trouble-free process at all counters across the country.

A registration fee of Rs 15 has been fixed, while Rs 24 are charged for an insurance policy to the pilgrims, the official said.
