One person was killed and two others were injured in a bomb blast by ULFA in upper Assam's Sibsgar district on Thursday, police said.

The remote controlled device was planted inside a dustbin in front of a shop in Sonari market and it exploded at 7.15 am, they said.

The injured has been admitted to a nearby hospital and the area cordoned off for investigation, polcie said, adding senior civil and police officials have rushed to the site.
