11 cops suspended for murder of traders

The Uttar Pradesh Govt has suspended 11 policemen, including a Superintendent of Police, Circle Officer and Inspector, after the brutal killing of three traders in Mandi Tatiri area of Baghpat district, reports S Raju.

The Uttar Pradesh government has suspended 11 policemen, including a Superintendent of Police, Circle Officer and Inspector, after the brutal killing of three traders in Mandi Tatiri area of Baghpat district on Wednesday evening.

Four injured traders have been admitted in hospitals of Meerut and Delhi. The condition of one trader was said to be critical. These traders sustained bullet injuries when four armed criminals fired on a group of traders outside a shop on Wednesday.

Additional Director General (ADG) law and order Brij Lal, IG of Meerut Zone Gurbachan Singh and other officials visited the
spot on Thursday.

"We have identified the criminals," said IG Singh, adding that he and Brij Lal would camp at Mandi till the criminals were arrested. He assured full security to traders who staged a protest.
