It is learnt that eight months ago Dhanno was raped by one Kamlesh while she was playing with her dolls at a mango orchard. While she was playing, Kamlesh had allegedly asked her to lift her skirt and show her private parts. Later, he raped her repeatedly despite her shrieks. He left her bleeding and in an unconscious condition in the orchard.

When the little girl's parents learnt about the rape, they went to the police station but the police refused to register the case. They approached the village Panchayat which held Kamlesh guilty of rape and imposed a fine of Rs 17,000 on him.

Kamlesh was also directed by the village Panchayat to marry Dhanno but after some time he backed saying that such a marriage would be against the Prohibition of Child Marriage Act.

After sleeping for eight months, the police woke up when Senior Superintendent of Police Gajendra Goswami took notice of the heinous crime which caused the death of little girl Dhanno and her baby. He has ordered Additional Superintendent of Police (rural area) Rajeev Mehrotra to investigate the matter and punish the guilty policemen.
