12,000 power consumers make online payment

Nearly 12,000 consumers paid electricity bills through the online mode in 13 subdivisions of the Dakhsin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN) in May.

Nearly 12,000 consumers paid electricity bills through the online mode in 13 subdivisions of the Dakhsin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN) in May.

The online payment facility is provided in 13 operation subdivisions of the power discom in Faridabad, Hisar and Gurgaon, a spokesperson said on Tuesday. "The consumers paid Rs 5.45 crore during in May, he added.

How to make online payments

For making the online payment of electricity bills, consumers need to log on to www.dhbvn.com and click on the link 'online payment'. It will direct consumers to a page that will ask for consumers' 'K number' given on the electricity bill. After filling in the details, consumers will be logged in their account. Then they can choose the service number and mode of payment (credit card, debit card or internet banking).

The next step is to choose the bank and then click 'submit'. Depending on the choice of the bank, the website redirects consumers to the website of the bank concerned for completing the transaction. The bank's website will ask for user ID and password. On logging in, amount to be paid will appear. Consumers can click on 'pay'. A message will appear that 'your payment is successful'. An online receipt will be generated and its print can be taken.
