Two groups clashed late on Tuesday night over a road mishap in the communally sensitive area, police said, adding there was stone pelting and looting of shops in the area.

Police cane charged the rioters and fired in the air to disperse the mob.

Meanwhile, additional police force has been deployed in the area to prevent violence, police said.

All the injured have been admitted to a local hospital, they added.
