More than 120 shops were gutted in a fire in the market complex at K Pudur near Madurai early on Friday, police said.
Five fire tenders doused the fire after fighting for nearly three hours.

No one was injured in the incident, police said.
City Mayor C Ramachandran, Commissioner TJ Dinakaran and other district officials visited the spot.
