At least 13 people died, 18 injured and two children missing when a bus plunged into a river in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, local traffic police said on Monday.

The accident occurred on Sunday evening at the Shule County section of No 315 national highway.
The bus heading from Kashi to Yengisar County in Xinjiang, went out of control on a bridge at Shule and fell off into a river, the police said.
Thirteen have died so far and 18 others have been hospitalised, with another two children missing.
The exact number of the passengers on the bus is still unclear, the police said.
Rescue efforts and investigation into the cause of the accident are underway.
