Thirteen persons, including three policepersons, were injured in stone-pelting by two political groups over election to a co-operative society at a village near Maharashtra, police said on Wednesday.

The incident occurred at Kashti village here in North Maharashtra on Tuesday over election to the posts of Chairman and Vice-Chairman of Kashti Vividh Karyakari Society.

Shiv Sena and Congress activists clashed over some dispute about the election. They indulged in stone pelting and used `lathis' in the clash, police said.
Of the three injured police personnel, one is a lady Constable.
Cases have been registered cases against 55 persons, including 16 women, police added.
