Thirteen people including members of the outlawed Hynniewtrep National Liberation Council, a Meghalaya-based insurgent group, surrendered to the BSF in Tripura on Friday.
BSF Inspector General SK Dutta said the 13 included four women and two children. They gave themselves up at Hiracherra in North Tripura district.
They crossed the Indo-Bangladesh border after leaving their camps at Panaipunji in Bangladesh's Moulavaibazar district and surrendered to the officer-in-charge of Hiracherra border outpost, Dutta said.
He said the militants told the BSF that they were frustrated with life on the run and wanted to return to the mainstream.
