The Chief Justice has recommended that the retirement age should be increased to 60 years for officers and employees of MPSEB. However, this could be a retrograde step for MPSEB, as older officers and employees would mar the efficiency of the Board.

Verma has further recommended that pay fixation benefit should be given at the rate of 15 per cent with effect from April 1, 1999, and dearness allowance should be given at par with Central Government officers and employees from back date.

If pay fixation benefit is given, basic pay would increase by 15 per cent, informed sources in MPSEB. A three-member committee comprising Transmission Company Chairman R K Verma, financial advisor to the Board Pankaj Agarwal and MPSEB secretary P K Vaishya will examine this report and submit it to MPSEB for approval.
