19 arrested for trespassing at Oscars

Nineteen were arrested on suspicion of trespassing at the Kodak Theatre during the Academy Awards ceremony. Nine of them are students, who used fake MTV credentials to gain access to the red carpet.

Nineteen people were arrested by Los Angeles Police on suspicion of trespassing at the Kodak Theatre during the Academy Awards ceremony. According to officials, the arrested include two men from Texas who jumped a barricade outside the theatre,

Nine students were also arrested, who used fake MTV credentials to gain access to the red carpet. The students, in their 20s, were detained after they began taking pictures, drawing attention from security personnel.

Also detained was a man from Berkeley in his late 60s. He was intoxicated and wearing "a sparkly getup," a police report said.

Another half-dozen people were arrested after the ceremony was over as the theater was being cleaned, LAPD officials said.
