The batch comprising 748 men, 310 women, 35 children and 134 sadhus, left in 35 vehicles including 27 buses and 8 LMVs from Bhagwati Nagar base camp in Jammu around 5.00 am on Monday escorted by CRPF personnel, officials said.

The cavalcade carrying the pilgrims has crossed Batote and will reach Pahalgam and Baltal base camps in Kashmir valley by Monday evening, they said.

A total of 42,758 pilgrims have so far left base camp in Jammu for the Lord Shiva temple since commencement of the pilgrimage on June 17.

The yatra was suspended four times due to bad weather and heavy rush of pilgrims on June 20, 25, 27 and 29, respectively.
