POLICE SHOT dead two contract killers in Mehmoorganj area under Bhelupur police station here on Sunday. The slain criminals were identified as Bachha and Babloo Srivastava, residents of Jaitpura in Varanasi.
The criminals were wanted in connection with the sensational murder of a beautician and her two sons in a house in Raniganj area last month. Police recovered a motorcycle from the scene. They were also wanted in a murder in Dhanbad (Jharkhand).
Superintendent of police (City) Anant Deo and deputy superintendent of police TN Tripathi said the criminals were hired for Rs 1 lakh by one Abdul Matin. They killed Radha Khanna and her sons Sunny (24) and Ravi (19) with an axe on the night of December 10.
Policemen were checking vehicles in Mehmoorganj area on Sunday morning when they spotted two youths on a motorcycle. When the youths were asked to stop, they opened fire on the police team.
Policemen returned the fire, killing the criminals on the spot. Police arrested Abdul Matin, who was closely associated with Radha Khanna. He had supported her financially.

{{/usCountry}}The criminals had reached the woman’s house on the night of December 10. They sent Sunny to buy eggs, while Ravi was sent out for another purpose. Both miscreants then attacked the woman with an axe and killed her. Sunny and Ravi were also killed later.
Another assailant Vikas Singh Chauhan was arrested a couple of days ago. He told the police that Abdul Matin was the mastermind behind the murder.
