TWO CASES of polio and one of dengue were reported from different hospitals of the city on Friday.

The first case was of a four and a half year old girl Nidhi, daughter of Kamlesh, resident of Panchamapurwa Mandhna under Bithooor police station.
She was admitted to a hospital on July11 and treated for high fever. On July 14 she suddenly started having pain in her legs and soon she was crippled. Kamlesh said she had never missed polio drops till date.
Nidhi was admitted to the LLR hospital on July 20. Dr VV Tripathi who was attending on her said there was no difference between the symptoms of polio and Acute Flacid Paralysis (AFP). And therefore till the reports came in they would be treating her according to GulianvareySindrome (GV).
Another case of polio is that of a three-year boy Mohd Kaif, son of Wakil, a resident of Fatehpur 84,Unnao. On July 7 he was admitted to a private nursing home.
In yet another case a 14-year old boy Kushagra, son of Nirmal Mishra, a resident of Unnao was found to be suffering from dengue. The doctor attending on him confirmed the disease. The boy, who is reported to be recovering, is being treated for the disease.
This is the second case of dengue detected so far in the city.
