At least 22 people were injured, some critically, when a train collided with a lorry at an unmanned level crossing in West Bengal's Burdwan district on Sunday.

"The incident occurred this morning when the lorry was crossing the unmanned level crossing. Twenty-two people were injured. No death has been reported," Burdwan Superintendent of Police Piyush Pande told IANS.

The Burdwan-Katwa local train hit the lorry near Palitpur railway station, about 150 km from here. The injured included some passengers of the train as well as the lorry.
The injured were admitted to Burdwan Medical Collage and Hospital.
Train services were disrupted following the accident.
The driver of the lorry fled the scene.
