24 people missing in China boat accident

The boat sank after striking a reef on the sea near Dongjia island in east China, officials said.

The boat sank after striking a reef on the sea near Dongjia island in east China, officials said.

Altogether 27 people were aboard the boat when it was sinking and only three were saved as of this morning, officials with the Fujian Maritime Safety Administration said.

Rescuers are searching for the missing, though their survival chances are quite slim.
