27 persons placed under National Security Act (NSA)

27 persons, including 18 militants, who were arrested under different sections of the Indian Penal Code in Manipur have been placed under the National Security Act (NSA).

Altogether 27 persons, including 18 militants, who were arrested under different sections of the Indian Penal Code in Manipur have been placed under the National Security Act (NSA), official sources said on Saturday.

The NSA Board in a meeting last month confirmed that 27 persons, including two women, had been booked under the NSA.

The NSA detainees included seven persons of militant outfit Kangleipak Communist Party-Military Council, five of another militant outfit People's Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak, five of insurgent organisation People's Liberation Army, one person of another insurgent organisation United National Liberation Front and one jawan of India Reserve Battalion.
