A case of near-drowning was reported from the house of an accused in the infamous Naval war room leak case on Sunday, when a 27-year-old man was allegedly found floating in a swimming pool in an unconsciousness state.
According to police, the victim was in an inebriated condition at the time of the incident and no one was near the swimming pool. The incident was discovered by one of the guests hours later.
The incident took place at the Vasant Kunj residence of Abhishek Verma, who was arrested in the Naval war room leak case of 2006.
"Twenty seven-year-old Jatin was allegedly in an inebriated state when he fell into the pool. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he is undergoing treatment,” said a senior police officer on condition of anonymity, as he is not authorised to speak to the media.
A case for causing hurt by an act endangering life or personal safety and endangering life or personal safety of others have been registered against unknown men.
Verma, who is suspected o have used his defence contacts to procure sensitive information in the 2006 leak case, has not been named in the FIR.

One of the main accused avi Shankaran, a close relative of the then Naval Chief Admiral Arun Prakash was arrested in London in May this year.
