"There are no strains in the Congress-DMK alliance. As for the 2G spectrum issue, it is a Supreme Court-monitored probe which is being carried out by different agencies," Congress spokesperson Jayanthy Natarajan said. Speaking to reporters here after calling on DMK patriarch, Karunanidhi, she said the 2G spectrum issue had "never strained" relations between the seven year-old allies and there was no chance that ties could be affected.

DMK leader and former Telecom Minister A Raja and Kanimozhi had been named in CBI chargesheet in the spectrum allocation scam. Following Kanimozhi's inclusion in CBI'S supplementary chargesheet on Monday, DMK had convened a high-level committee meeting on April 27 to discuss the situation which had fuelled speculation of its pulling out from Congress-led UPA cabinet.
