2nd train robbed in Bihar in 3 days

Even as Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee was busy preparing for her rally at Lalgarh, train robbers struck for the second time in three days in Bihar, on the Howrah-Patna line. HT reports.

Even as Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee was busy preparing for her rally at Lalgarh, train robbers struck for the second time in three days in Bihar, on the Howrah-Patna line.

Six passengers of the Howrah-Amritsar Express were injured and cash and valuables worth Rs 1.5 lakh looted in Bihar's Jamui district on Sunday night. Robbers had struck the Sealdah-New Delhi Lal Quila Express in Lakhisarai district on Friday, injuring 21.

On Sunday, 30 robbers looted passengers in an AC coach and a sleeper coach and hit those who resisted with rifle butts. They then pulled the chain and fled.

A company of Bihar Military Police will be deployed in this section to escort trains.
