IN A landmark decision, a session court on Tuesday convicted three policemen and three others for killing two innocents in a fake encounter in Kakawan some three to four years ago.
District Judge AsK Rastogi in his order quoted Abraham Lincoln’s famous lines ‘if we lose faith of our own people, we can never get back their respect.. we can befool people but not for long’. The quote fits in this case and considering the nature of crime they were awarded rigorous life imprisonment.
According to government counsels Shambhu Nath Singh Yadav and Srikant Tiwari, one Ramsanehi and his son Kuldeep, residents of Khadagpur under police station Kakwan, lodged a complaint on February 20,2002 with Kakwan police against Satyanarain and Ramswaroop residents of the same village, for alleged attempt to murder.
The then SO of Kakwan PS S-I JP Singh with other police officials reached the spot and ordered constable Dharmendra Singh and constable Veer Singh to open fire on criminals hiding in the field.
Later, SO JP Singh registered a case against unknown criminals for attacking on the police party and also mentioned that there was no loss of life or injury to human beings. On the following day in the early morning hours SO JP Singh with police force went to the same site and recovered country made pistol and ammunition from criminals and also brought the bodies of Satyanarain and Ramswaroop to police station Kakwan and registered a case against both deceased under section 25 of arms act.

{{/usCountry}}On February 21, 2002, Ramakanti wife of late Satyanarain lodged a complaint regarding the murder of her husband. During investigations the name of Rajahs, a relative of Ramsanehi came into light.
Thereafter, during the hearing of the case in court S-I JP Singh and constable Dharmendra Singh were summoned. The prosecution demanded the re-investigation of the case, which was allowed by the court.
The final report (FR) was submitted in the court. Later, the court observed that S-I JP Singh, Constable Dharmendra Singh, Constable Veer Singh and Ramshanehi, Kuldeep, Rajahs were guilty in double murder case and awarded them life imprisonment.
