Deputy Superintendent of Police Ram Abhilash Tripathi said, “Sunil Sharma, a resident of 153 Mahavir Enclave in Delhi, had lodged a murder case stating his brother Omvir Singh, 36, and brother-in-law Vivek were shot dead by Mahesh, Ravi and Sugam on Monday night over a property dispute.”

Police have not achieved a breakthrough in the case.

“They may have gone to some posh hotel to hide. Teams were sent to check hotels, guest houses and houses of their friends and relatives,” said Tripathi.

“A meeting to patch up differences was held from 4 pm on the day of the murders in the presence of family members from both groups. Meeting continued for four hours and murders took place around 8 pm. This shows that murders were not pre-planned. Lack of a solution could have triggered the murder,” the officer added.

“Deceased Omvir’s father, Om Prakash, had gone with accused Mahesh after murder and he too is not traceable,” said Tripathi.

“Omvir’s wife said a day before the murder, they had sought police protection, citing threat to his life,” he added.
