Three members of a family, including a woman and an infant, were hacked to death in Mudha Vishnu village in Lakhimpur Kheri district in Lakhimpur Kheri.
Umakant, who had allegedly eloped with a girl of the same village and married her about two years ago, was returning home with his family when the girl's family members attacked and killed them, police said.

The assailants are absconding, police said, adding that efforts are on to nab them.
