3 policemen suspended over custodial death in Pratapgarh

A trader, arrested for selling illicit liquor, was allegedly killed in police custody following which three policemen, including a Station House Officer (SHO), have been suspended, officials said in Pratapgarh.

A trader, arrested for selling illicit liquor, was allegedly killed in police custody following which three policemen, including a Station House Officer (SHO), have been suspended, officials said in Pratapgarh on Monday.

Mathura Prasad Lodh was allegedly killed in police custody on Sunday after he was arrested for selling illicit liquor, they said.

Taking note of the incident, Superintendent of Police Lalji Shukla suspended SHO Nawabjanj Anjani Rai and two constables -- Jitendra and Basudeo, they said.
