3 teens held for abducting, raping girl in Bhiwani
The police here on Saturday arrested three minor boys on the charges of abducting and raping an 18-year Dalit girl. Students of classes 11 and 12 at a government school in Barhru village of Bhiwani district, one of the boys was known to the girl, who studies at an Industrial Training Institute (ITI), and had called her to a park in Rohtak on March 20.
The police here on Saturday arrested three minor boys on the charges of abducting and raping an 18-year Dalit girl.
Students of classes 11 and 12 at a government school in Barhru village of Bhiwani district, one of the boys was known to the girl, who studies at an Industrial Training Institute (ITI), and had called her to a park in Rohtak on March 20.
He and his two friends then forcibly took the girl to an undisclosed location where they raped her, and then dropped her at the same park on Saturday before fleeing.
On the victim's complaint, the police registered a case of abduction, rape and also under the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, and arrested the three teenaged boys.
While one of the accused hails from a dominating community, the other two are from a Scheduled Caste (SC). They would be produced before a Juvenile Justice Board on Sunday.
