According to SDOP (Misrod) Rajesh Bhadoria, the incident occurred at a bungalow being renovated at H-37, Laharpur extension near Bagh Mughalia. The victim is the daughter of the watchman, Chhavilal Sharma, He lives in the bungalow while the owners live in Delhi.

In the afternoon, Sharma had gone out. His wife went to sleep and one of her daughters, a three-year-old, was playing in the house after returning from school. When the incident occurred, the victim’s two sisters – one five-year-old and another two-year-old, were sleeping close to their mother.

Prakash, who was whitewashing the bungalow, lured the girl with a chocolate and took her to the top floor, where he allegedly raped the girl and told her not to reveal it to anybody. A little while later the girl’s mother got up and after noticing the child’s condition inquired her about it.

Subsequently, she called the police. The accused, fearing arrest, hid self on the top floor. However, during interrogation, he confessed to committing the rape.
