35 more file nomination

On the second day of filing of nominations for the Gurgaon Municipal Corporation (MCG) elections, 35 candidates, including six women (all independents), filed their nominations. HT reports.

On the second day of filing of nominations for the Gurgaon Municipal Corporation (MCG) elections, 35 candidates, including six women (all independents), filed their nominations. So far, 43 candidates have filed their papers which include nine women. No political party candidate has filed the nomination so far. This was stated by returning officer-cum-additional deputy commissioner VS Hooda on Friday.

Hooda said 35 candidates filed their nominations on the second day. Tushar Behmani filed from ward no. 2, Arun Kumar and Mahavir Yadav from ward no. 4 and Naresh Dahiya, Gyasiram Yadav, Bhim Singh Yadav and Pawan filed

their nominations from ward no. 5.

Similarly, Mahender Singh Tudiyana filed his nomination from ward no. 7, Rajbala from ward no. 14, Moti Lal and Roshan from ward no. 15, Rupesh Kaushik and Naresh Sehrawat from ward no. 17. Brimho Devi filed her nomination from ward no. 10 taking the number of candidates to three. Naresh Sehrawat and Brimho Devi were councillors in the Gurgaon Municipal Council, before the formation of MCG.

Vijay Kumar filed his nominations from ward no. 12, Ashwani Sharma, Raj Singh and Subash from ward no. 18, Davender Yadav from ward no. 19 and Ravinder Kataria, ex-chairman of erstwhile Gurgaon Municipal Council, from ward no. 20.

In the MCG elections, 12 wards are reserved for women candidates which include ward no. 3, 8, 11, 13, 14, 16, 27, 28, 29, 30, 33 and 34. Out of these, ward no. 13 and 16 are reserved for women belonging to scheduled castes.
