Two unidentified motorcyclists shot a 35-year-old man in broad daylight on Sunday.
Ashwani Kumar, 35, a resident of Upper Andora village was murdered by two unidentified motorcyclists in front of deceased's wife and son in Naloh village near Ripoh Misran panchayat.
Now, the director general of police (DGP) has directed superintendent of police, Una, to constitute a special investigation team (SIT) in the case.
The family had gone to Gugga (a religious place) in Chaksarai village, some five-kilometre away, and were returning to their village, when the assailants stopped them and shot the victim at point blank range, sources said.
The road is less traversed by people and has thin traffic movement. Ashwani was working as a JCB operator in Gujarat and had come home a few days ago only.
As per the DGP's directions, Una SP Anupam Sharma would form a SIT headed by a gazetted officer.
Meanwhile, the SP informed that the deceased's wife had stated that the assailants were riding a black Pulsar motorcycle. He said the telephone calls of the victim were being traced, adding that further investigations were also on.
