Fighting between the Chadian army and rebels in the capital N'djamena on Thursday claimed the lives of 370 rebels and around 30 government soldiers, Territorial Administration Minister Mahamat Ali Abdallah said on Friday.

Abdallah said around one hundred other soldiers had been injured in the clashes and 287 rebels from the United Front for Change (FUC) had been arrested by the army.
