4 held for ?conversions?

THE CITY police today arrested four persons, including a woman of Nagpur on the apprehension of converting the 21 tribals of Dindori and Anooppur into Christian faith, on the complaint of Bajrang Dal.

THE CITY police today arrested four persons, including a woman of Nagpur on the apprehension of converting the 21 tribals of Dindori and Anooppur into Christian faith, on the complaint of Bajrang Dal.

Twenty-one tribals along with the four persons detained, were putting up at a hotel near bus stand here, en route to Nagpur when the Bajrang Dal activists called the police and stormed into the hotel.

The Madan Mahal police said they booked four persons Praveen Pawar, Samath Pawar, Shashi Prabha and Macklin, under section 420, 34 of the IPC and section 4 of MP Religion Freedom Act on the complaint of Amit Sharma, an office bearer of BD.

The police denied the tribals have confessed that they were being taken for conversion.
