The preacher of non-violence, Mahatma Gandhi devoted his life for disseminating the non-violence and he proved that it as an effective weapon.

Years after his departure his thoughts are seen prevailing in the society and also in the prisons where many of the inmates are undergoing imprisonment as a result of violent anger that lasts only for a fraction of seconds.

According to the director of the study centre Sriram Jadhav, these 40 inmates undergoing imprisonment under various crimes have expressed their desire to give Gandhian Thought examinations with the Mumbai Sarvodaya Mandal.

In last week of February their examinations were conducted by the Mahatma Gandhi study centre of the Deogiri college. Books written by Mahatma Gandhi and that on his thoughts were made available to the inmates.
