About 40 two-wheelers and a car were burnt in a fire that broke out in the parking area of a housing society in Kondhava here today, fire brigade said.

The fire, reportedly ignited by an electric short-circuit, also gutted six autorickshawas in the vicinity. There were, however, no casualties, police said.

A spokesman of `Mahavitaran' - Maharashtra Electricity Distribution Company - said there was no prime-facie evidence pointing to the blaze being caused by a short-circuit. Police are investigating as to whether the fire was caused by an accident or was an act of sabotage.
