At a ceremony held on Thursday, the two anti-government fighting commanders, Hazar Khan Lundkani Marri and Mir Hassan Lundkani Marri, who had been running a militant training camp in Kohlu district, pledged to support government's policies in the southwest province of Balochistan.

The tribesmen laid down their arms, and assured their support for government's efforts of restoring peace and the ongoing development projects in the province.

They also pledged their cooperation in government action being taken against militant tribesmen in Dera Bugti and Kohlu areas, according to the Dawn report.

Armed tribal people under the leadership of some tribal chiefs in years have launched numerous attacks targeting government forces and public assets, claiming many lives from both sides.
