AS MANY as 46 vehicles running without permission were seized, and flags, banners and hoardings were removed from over 300 places in Budhni Assembly constituency in the wake of the Election Commission’s instructions for a strict adherence to model code of conduct.

Special watch is being maintained to check misuse of government machinery for election and to ensure that it is not being used in favour of any political party.

According to an official release, strict adherence to the model code of conduct as per the directives of the Election Commission of India is being ensured for the by-election of Budhni Assembly constituency.

Constant watch is being maintained on the election expenditure of the candidates, defacement of properties and use of vehicles. Thirty-five vehicles were seized in Budhni tehsil and 11 in Nasrullahganj tehsil which were plying without due permission.

Flags, banners and hoardings were removed at 291 places in Budhni tehsil and 30 places in Nasrullahganj tehsil as a part of measures to check property defacement. A tent erected without permission in Nasrullahganj tehsil was also seized.

Situation regarding corrupt practices and crime is also being reviewed. Central Reserve Police Force is also being deployed to prevent intimidation. Videography of maximum polling booths is being ensured.

Senior officers of the district administration and election observers are constantly touring the constituency to keep a watch on observance of model code of conduct.
