"The Congress activists Friday waived black flags at the Gujarat chief minister and shouted slogans against him as he landed in Firozabad for an election rally," district police chief Chandra Prakash told IANS by phone.

Firozabad is about 300 km from here.

A case under CrPC (Code of Criminal Procedure) section 144 (nuisance or apprehended danger) has been registered against the Congress workers, who were led by the party's district general secretary Atul Chaturvedi, he added.

According to the police, the Congress workers were arrested Saturday on the directions of the district authorities.

"After seeing the video footage of the rally, the district authorities directed us to register a case against the Congress workers and arrest them," said Prakash.
