Special action plan to destroy anti-national outfits on the anvil

NEWLY APPOINTED Director General of Police (DGP) Bua Singh has admitted that the five districts of eastern UP are affected by the networking of ISI-backed terrorist organisations.
“Varanasi, Jaunpur, Azamgarh, Ghazipur and Allahabad are affected by the network of Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) -operated terrorist organisations. A comprehensive action plan is being chalked out to destroy this anti-national network,” the DGP said.
Talking to mediapersons here in the Police Lines on Saturday, the DGP said the state’s intelligence set-up would be upgraded to check terrorist activities and for this purpose, a special work plan was being also chalked out.
Speaking about the security arrangement at religious places after bomb blasts in Varanasi and Delhi, he said there were three major religious places in the state - Kashi, Mathura and Ayodhyaya where adequate security arrangement had been ensured.
Besides, other religious places were being also identified for ensuring security and station officers had been directed to gather information about the security of pilgrimage centers from their own sources without depending on the report of the Local Investigation Unit (LIU) of the civil police in each district.
Commenting on the bomb blasts in Delhi on Friday evening, he said people had shown a good example of communal harmony in the wake of the Varanasi blasts on March 7.

{{/usCountry}}Police officials throughout the state had to concentrate on maintaining communal harmony and no laxity in this connection would be tolerated.
“ I do not belive in data of arrests and action. There should be a sense of security among the masses through the working style of the police,” he said adding that the accused had been arrested in connection with the Varanasi bomb blasts. Bangladesh-based ISI-controlled HuJI terrorist organisation had carried out the bomb blasts.
He said the district police chiefs throughout the state had been directed to put all the wanted criminals behind bars till May 15.
Besides, a campaign was also being launched against the criminals carrying rewards for their arrest. Police officials ,first of all, had to make efforts to gather information about the future occurrence of crimes and then check them. Even then if crimes took place, prompt legal action against the accused was to be initiated, no delay would be tolerated in this connection and the official concerned would be removed.
In response to a query about the initiative of legal action against a Samajwadi Party-backed criminal who was arrested along with eight others with the star-marked pistol of Pakistan from Rai Bareli recently, he indicated that the man would be booked under the National Security Act (NSA) after investigation.
The DGP along with IG (Crime), Praveen Singh held a meeting with the DIGs and SPs of Varanasi zone and discussed the law and order scenario and departmental preparations.
IG zone KL Meena, DIGs of Mirzapur, Varanasi and Azamgarh, SK Mathur, BK Maurya and RN Yadav participated in the meeting, The DIG of Inter -State Border Force SN Sabat and SSP Dr GK Goswami were also present on the occasion.
