Six people were killed and 40 injured on Wednesday when an overloaded minibus skidded off the road and rolled down a deep gorge in the mountainous Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir, police said.

The tragedy occurred when the minibus was on its way from Kalakot to Tatapani in Rajouri district, some 150 km from Jammu.
The police and the civil administration have launched rescue operations. The seriously injured have been sent to hospital in this winter capital of the state.
