Ramdhan, who hails from Muzaffarnagar, was posted in Ratlam in Madhya Pradesh and was dismissed from the post after he allegedly eloped with Sheetal and married her a month ago, police said on Tuesday.

Still untraced, the couple, however, have sent to the police here a copy of their marriage certificate, issued in Chandigarh.

The incident came to light following a complaint lodged by the girl's parents against the professor for abducting Sheetal.

Police said they raided Ramdhan's house in the district but were unable to trace the couple.
