As many as 61 kins of victims, who died due to militancy-related incidents, have been given jobs on compassionate grounds by the Jammu and Kashmir government, an official said in Srinagar.
Appointment letters were given to 61 persons of Budgam district by Jammu and Kashmir Finance Minister Abdul Rahim Rather in Srinagar on Tuesday.
During last eight months, 826 such cases were cleared, while the remaining 2,303 pending cases would be settled during the next six months, Rather said.
Government has decided to pay an amount of Rs four lakh to the next of kins of the families affected due to militancy in lieu of government jobs, he said.
Also, funds to a tune of Rs 50.60 lakh have been distributed as cash compensation to 1,267 persons in lieu of government jobs in the state so far.
