Sources said out of 920 examiners, 608 did not take part in the training programme organised by the Board. Other examiners despite being trained had committed laxity in checking copies. The Board had this year clearly pointed out that those teachers who failed to undergo training should not be given answersheets.

Strict vigil would also be kept on those examiners who preferred to take extra copies for checking.

The Board had become more strict following several complaints registered by the deputy chief examiners of several evaluation centres in Lucknow, Meerut, Varanasi, Kanpur and Allahabad regions during last years’ evaluation. They said majority of examiners did not attend the training programme. Only 45 per cent examiners attended the programme on the first day. The teachers barred from evaluating answersheets this year included 320 in Allahabad, 280 in Meerut, 100 in Varanasi and 170 in Bareli regions .

To recall, officials had nabbed one dozen clerks checking copies in last year’s evaluation work.
