The Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon (MCG) has undertaken the project of laying sewer lines on Khandsa Road in phases. But each time, after the sewer lines were laid in a portion, the road was left like that. It has taken months, sometimes even more than a year for the road to be re-carpeted.
About four months back, the MCG laid the sewer line in a portion of Khandsa Road connecting Raj Nagar, Hira Nagar and Om Nagar, but the carpeting has not been done so far. After levelling the road, it has been opened for commuters but this is not going to serve any purpose.
This has been causing a lot of inconvenience to the residents. Potholes and bumps on the main road have become a serious problem for the people.
"We really don't know why the civic agency is acting so slowly and implements the project after causing lot of inconvenience to the residents. It has not bothered to do anything to rectify the condition of the roads. Despite complaints, the corporation has not yet prepared the budget for the repairing of the road," shares Anuj Gupta, a resident of Om Nagar.
"We appreciate the civic agency for taking the initiative and laying the sewer lines as the old pipelines had become defunct and there was an overflow most of the times. But the speed of work is really slow. After completion of the project, it took many days for proper levelling of the road. And now the corporation seems to have completely forgotten about re-carpeting of the road," adds Ravi Kumar, a resident of Raj Nagar.

{{/usCountry}}Even in the past after laying the sewer line on the stretch near Subzi Mandi it took more than a year for the civic agency to re-carpet the same.
"As per an MCG official, fresh tender will be allocated for carpeting of this road probably after the rainy season. But we really don't know what will be the condition of the road and how feasible it will be for commuting.
In fact, it will become more difficult for pedestrians to walk on this road due to waterlogging. The road is levelled with soil or debris and that will surely settle down with rain and lead to further mess here," adds Kumar.
"Driving here will destroy your car suspensions, upturn autos or tempos and bring everything to a standstill. I really don't know when the condition of this road will be improved by the authority," adds Narendra Gupta, another resident of Hira Nagar.
