If you’ve been saving for your favourite necklace, start saving a little more. Furniture and décor items having silver, gold lining and studded with swarovski have made their way into the market.

A little ornamentation
You may ask if there’s even a need for such autentatious décor items? “It is a design innovation. It adds a little sparkle to the furniture piece, and brings a bit of ornamentation. This is the latest innovation,” says Minaxi Goyal, interior designer, Mobel Grace. “I think décor items embellished with crystals are more of collector’s item. But with increasing awareness and the availability of such unique décor products (with crystals, gold and silver lining), people are showing interest in them,” says Anita Kataria, MD, Right Address.

M for money
From dining table, mirror, centre table, photo frames there are number of swarovski studded items available in the market. “The price may start from Rs 3500 to Rs 30 lakh,” adds Kataria. The price and the exclusivity of the product not only ensure that the product looks good, they also guarantee its durability.

A look of royalty
“Swarovski adds a definite royalty to the furniture. There is demand for such products, but it’s still a niche,” says businessmen Tarun Verma, who has bought a swarovski studded mirror.

“I’m a little apprehensive about using it on my products, as durability factor holds me back. But I think having swarovski or silver or gold lining on the furniture or décor items is an interesting concept. It heightens the aesthetics of the place,” says Interior designer Bobby Agarwal.
