Tiny tots of the primary wing presented colourful programmes. All cultural performances revolved around the theme for the evening — ‘Mother and Motherland’.

Emotions of mother as well as rich cultural heritage of the motherland were reflected by the students through their zestful performances.

The chief guest on the occasion, DIG Anuradha Shankar (IPS), addressing the gathering said she was privileged to be present in a function along with the Archbishop of Bhopal Dr Pascal Topno SJ.

She said, “Motherly feelings as well as motherly love was not just the privilege of a woman, but at the same time a man could be a better mother to his children and share the same bond with his children as their mother. The term mother is full of love and affection, she added.

The welcome speech was a unique feature as it was rendered by a Class I student. The other programmes included a ballet highlighting “motherland in her splendour”. Children rendered dances which were reflective of the cultural heritage of Indian states including their geographical features.

This was followed by a skit titled ‘Mother’s Love’. The highlight of the evening was an amazing dance performance by the tiny tots on ‘Vande Mataram’ which ended on the formation of a flag by the kids.

Those present included St Joseph’s Convent S S School principal Sister Francis Joseph, Carmel Convent S S School (BHEL) principal Sister Noel, St Joseph’s Co-Ed S S School principal Fr Maria Stephen and Jawaharlal Nehru School (BHEL) principal Dr N U K Menon. Headmistress of Campion School Primary Wing Sr Nirmala Ergat proposed the vote of thanks.
