Go on a shopping spree
If you have to attend a wedding, you can pay a visit to various wholesale retailers in this market, where you can buy fancy kurtas and designer suits. Punjabi Suit Wale is one such wholesale showroom. Here, you can get cotton kurtas for R795 and designer suits for R1,800. If you are into brands, then try out Export Hut near the community hall. It stocks some good brands in clothes for men, women and kids. They also have an interesting section of home furnishings and handicrafts.

Hungry kya?
After all that shopping, satiate your hunger pangs at a number of eateries here. If your favourite is chhole bhature, then do pay a visit to Baba Nagpal’s shop, which has doled out the dish to a generation of clients. It is available for R35 per plate. For the ones who are fond of sweets, there is the Gopala bakery, famous for its spongy rasgullas and a variety of breads, priced at R55.

Further ahead, you will come across Juneja Sweets and Juneja Bakery, which are on opposite sides of the road. Here, try golgappas for R20 per plate and a chocolate truffle cake for R440. For non-veg lovers, there is Tunday Kababi across the road, which sells authentic Lucknawi kababs and mughlai preparations of mutton and chicken, as well as tunday rolls (R50).

Other eating options in the area include Tibet Kitchen, which is famous for fruit beer (R30 per glass) and Ting Mo —Tibetan steamed bread (R40) and Mutton Sha Baglep — a samosa with mutton stuffing (R135 for three pieces).
