A memorable day for air warriors at Gorakhpur

THE SEVENTY-four anniversary of constitution of India Air Force was celebrated here at Gorakhpur Air Force Station as the Air Force Day on Sunday. Air Commodore P Kumar Vishisht Sewa Medal, Air Officer Commanding of Air Force Station Gorakhpur took the homage to the martyred by laying a wreath at War Memorial at the station.

THE SEVENTY-four anniversary of constitution of India Air Force was celebrated here at Gorakhpur Air Force Station as the Air Force Day on Sunday. Air Commodore P Kumar Vishisht Sewa Medal, Air Officer Commanding of Air Force Station Gorakhpur took the homage to the martyred by laying a wreath at War Memorial at the station. He called upon Air Force employees to attain professional excellency and maintaining high degree of operational preparedness at the station.

After wreath laying ceremony, all the warriors of the station took oath to continue to dedicate their services for the nation. Message from President of India, Vice-President, Prime Minister, Defence Minister and Chief of Air Staff Air Officer Commanding-in-chief, Centre Air Command were read out on the occasion. Air Commodore P Kumar VSN distributed appreciation card to exceptional air warriors of the station for their outstanding performance.

A tea party was also organised with the widows of air warriors to mark the occasion in which Punita Kumar, the president of Air Force Wives Welfare Association, Gorakhpur interacted with widows of warriors and assured them that the station would provide all possible help to them.
