Camaraderie was in the air as Chilean ambassador Jorge Heine and his wife Norma recently hosted a do to celebrate the 194th anniversary of Chile’s Independence Day at the Olive Bar & Kitchen. “We are proud to be in such a beautiful country to celebrate our National Day,” said Heine.
The Indian and the Chilean national anthems were played before Heine and E.V.K.S Elangovan, Minister of State for Commerce and Industry, the chief guest, addressed the party animals. “We’ll soon sign a trade pact with the Chilean government. It is an honour to be here,” said Elangovan.

While everyone sipped wines such as the Sauvignon Blanc and Carmenere, soothing Latino music played in the background. Plus there was a melodious performance by Mexican singer and pianist Edy Corona. Also spotted: Bulgarian ambassador Dragovest Goranov, Uruguay ambassador Enrique Anchordoqui,
Brazilian ambassador Vera Machado, Mexican ambassador Julio FaeslerCarlisle, Serbian ambassador Vuk Zugic and Pakistani High Commissioner Aziz Ahmed Khan.
