Shoba Ram is a distraught man today. Though a year has passed after an air ambulance crashed atop his house on May 25 last year — killing 10 people, including three members of his family — he is struggling to get compensation.

The air-ambulance, which was on its way to Apollo Hospital in Delhi from Bihar and carrying a patient, Rahul Raj, along with doctors, crash-landed in Parvartiya colony in Faridabad.
Three members of Ram's family — his wife Vedwati, daughter Savita and daughter-in-law Rani — perished in the air ambulance debris.
“I was assured that compensation will be released,” Shoba Ram told HT on Friday.
Ram said his nine-year-old grandson, Yash, who lost his mother Savita in the crash, also lost his father after a month of the incident.
“If any commitment was made by the government, I’ll ensure it is fulfilled”, said Faridabad DC Balraj Singh.
